My story

My choice to become a nutritionist was made one Saturday afternoon on January the 10th 2015. I had the shock of my life whilst exercising with my husband at our local gym when in front of my eyes I witnessed him have a cardiac arrest. His heart stopped which felt like for ever and I thought he had gone.

He survived, thanks to the quick action of staff and members who performed CPR to save his life. During those 6 minutes a million thoughts ran through my mind and I knew if he survived this or not, life would be different. It sure was as for the following 2 years it put an immense strain on me as not only was I experiencing symptoms of perimenopause at that time such as brain fog, feelings of overwhelm and anxiety but I was now pushed to my limits and suffering with full blown post-traumatic stress disorder from my experience.

This resulted in regular panic attacks, dizzy spells, gastric and sleep disturbances and resulting anxiety disorder. I paid privately to have a hormone test with a nutritionist as this was not available through regular testing at the GP practice. The test revealed elevated stress hormones that were out of control and now controlling me. I had to do something about it.

I had exhausted all pathways within the mainstream medical profession, but the help simply wasn’t there for me and the only option on offer were anti-depressants or HRT. This didn’t sit right with me. I decided to go back to college for  three and a half years and learn more about the science and the natural ways to heal the human body, not only for my husband and myself but for all my family. After all, I wasn’t only a wife, I was also a mother of three teenagers  who all still needed Mum to be strong enough to guide the way.

What I learnt was the body is an amazing machine, capable of healing itself given the right tools for the job. The key is knowing what is going on in your body first and then repairing it through food, lifestyle change and targeted dietary supplementation to support optimal health.

Thankfully, life has returned to normal, in fact I’m feeling far better than I did prior to peri-menopause and I am now helping other women to take back control of their health and deal with their hormone havoc so that they can feel their healthier, happier, energised self again.

My vision

I envisage a world in which women looking to improve their health are empowered to take back control and recover from persistent and sometimes chronic related health issues holding them back from living life to the full.

I would like to have available to them personalised care and resources that offer a more holistic approach to resolving health complaints. I believe by looking at the person as a whole you can link all the dots together. Following the naturopathic medicine principles approach to optimal health allows me to do that and can help women to stop wilting and start flourishing and feel healthier and happier to achieve even more greatness than ever before.

My mission

My mission is to help women everywhere continue to do great things and guide the way for their families and the world in general. I want to empower women everywhere to achieve this by getting them back on track towards optimal health. When you feel great you can achieve anything at any age!

You’ve done all the hard work and you’ve put up with feeling like this for far too long, This is your time now!
